a little pre-disney scrappin...

i got a SURPRISE opportunity to go on a scrapbook retreat this weekend with some regulars and some new gals, up at whidbey island. someone ended up backing out at the last moment and i was offered the spot. to add further proof that he's the greatest husband ever, jas was fine with me leaving him to deal with sleep overs and soccer games for the 3 day weekend.

mary ann added a winter retreat in february mostly for people who aren't able to get into the regular spring & fall retreats. i don't normally go to the winter retreats because 3 a year (at about $300 a pop) just seems like too much for me. but this time it just worked out like it was destined to be.

one thing i was deliriously HAPPY to be able to finish this weekend was my trip book for the upcoming disneyland vacation jas and i are taking. i decided to prescrap (a serious breach of scrappin rules with the MLL*) the book. i made it VERY simple from divided file folders, red felt, paper, stickers, paint and some YUMMY maya road keychain chipboard.

jas and i both wrote lists of our top 12 favorite disneyland rides and the whole book will be about that, with a page about our anniversary since it IS the whole reason for the trip! now i just need to make sure i get the right pictures taken and then add them to the finished pages. sounds like i better make another list!

here's an idea of what it lookes like.

*the MLL is a group of women who have been scrapbooking together since early days at lasting memories when they used to have moonlight crops on friday nights. there are 13 original moonlight ladies that regularly go to our scrapbook retreats.

I love the choice in colors, it's so perfect. I can't wait to see the finished product, you had better post pictures. :)

Gina, this album is so amazing! I love your idea to focus on a few favorites rather than trying to scrap every overwhelming detail. Please post again when the pics are in! Have a great time making the memories... :)
