one month down...

and only 11 more to go.

i am actually enjoying my 366 daily photo project.

i am flattered by the nice comments and questions i've gotten about it so i thought i'd explain a bit more to you. it's not a new idea, though i just heard of it late last year. i guess people out there have been doing it for a while. the whole idea...for me anyway, is to take a picture everyday that represents my life. not the lap of luxury life i wish i was leading, but my simple everyday get up, bathe, get dressed, go to work or whatever, hang with family, visit with friends, eat good food, buy iced tea etc, etc, etc life. sometimes i am too lazy to seek out an interesting picture so you get bread bowls or whatever, but they still represent my life, something that was going on that day, so it works.

since i am only 31 days into it finding stuff to take pictures of hasn't been hard. i also carry my little camera with me almost everywhere so i am ready if inspiration strikes.

i am a little worried about the future, but i guess that will make this a growth experience since i'll have to push myself a bit. it also helps that jason doesn't think i can do it (not in a mean way, he just thinks i'll lose interest..which is SO unlike me). so i have to prove him wrong! i also purchased an scrapbook JUST for this project so i have to finsh it!!

anyways, so far it's fun and my whole family seems to enjoy seeing what i come up with. kial wants me to make and print out mosaics for her so she can make her own album. and since big huge labs makes that so easy i am happy to do it.

confession time...

so i tend to be a hoarder and somewhat of a collector. in the last year or 2 i have started buying coffee cups. starbucks coffee cups for the most part. and if they go together i, of course, have to buy the whole set. or just 2 of the same cup so they match.

i LOVE them. i love the big size. i love the way they feel in my hands. i love the various textures. i love the pretty designs. yeah, it's nuts, but i can't seem to help it. i just love those cups.

now i don't like all of them. they have to be big. i also don't like the ones they have with the metal bottoms. but i seem to be able to find at least one or 2 i like every season.

jason is frustrated about the money i am spending on them and REALLY frustrated because we truly have NO room to store them all. our plans of remodeling seem to be way off in the distant future so room for storage is precious right now.

well, i think i have come upon a wonderful solution so i can keep purchasing my cups and make them a useful part of my life...they can help organize my OTHER much bigger and scarier collection; SCRAPBOOK SUPPLIES! now all i need is the shed jason promised me to put this idea to use. of course the deal was i help him pay off a few bills 1st. i guess that means no new cups for a while. *sigh*

***disclaimer...i did not purchase all of the cups, kiki helped me some.

edit-some of the cups in the pictures are one of a set of 2 or 4. yeah, it's even worse than it looks.

the wait is ALMOST over...

cebastain, kial and i are SO excited for thursday. LOST is back with a 2 hour season premiere (i am going to be a bad mom and let the girls stay up). the only sad thing is that jason is too lame to watch with us. ok jas isn't lame, but still we think he should join us.

i downloaded a free LOST podcast on iTunes that sums up the first 3 seasons in 8minutes and 15 seconds! it was a fun refresher and if anyone out there wants to hop on the bandwagon it would be a fun way to get started. though i completely recommend watching it from the beginning.

i *heart* sawyer!

a world painted white...

i am NOT a snow lover. not a fan of being cold or wet and definitely not a fan of both combined. but when i see the world after it's been freshly frosted with snowflakes i am always amazed. even the ugliest yard looks beautiful covered in brand new snow.

my fun saturday...

i went to my friend mary ann's house on saturday for a scrapbook get together. jen drove kathy and i down and we stayed until almost 11pm. mary ann is ALWAYS so generous with her home and anything else you can think of. seriously, i don't think i know anyone as generous as she is. she had a fun little valentines day project for us all and a cute little treat. everyone had a great time!

oh...and one month until DISNEYLAND!!!

happy days...

i think that my 366 project is helping me notice things in my life that make me happy, things that maybe i've taken for granted. it's been great.
at the end of each day trying to decide which picture to use has been really fun. i wondered when i first started if i'd actually be able to find things to take pictures of (in my semi boring life) and 15 days in i am already finding i look at everything with more interest.

i have made 2 project rules for myself...
1. i MUST be the person who took the picture-shoulde be easy enough
2. no FLASH-i am trying to learn to take and enjoy pictures taken without a flash, even if they come out a little fuzzy.

fun times ahead...

i got this fun new tripod in the mail today. i've wanted one for a while and had a few amazon.com gift cards from christmas so i put them to good use. i decided to do a 365 (366 this year) picture challenge this year and i think my gorillapod will come in very handy and hopefully help make some fun pictures!
