2 parties...

1st we had grant's 3rd birthday party on wednesday. it's hard to believe he's already 3. he's such a fun, smart and sweet little boy. we are so lucky he's part of our family.

then on friday we had an early easter celebration because nana is going to arizona for the real day. the kids had sandwiches made with mulit-colored bread, searched for money filled eggs and decorated cupcakes. kial & malieo were the lucky ones this year because they found the eggs that had the $20 bills in them. lucky kids!

so excited....

here's the cover for harry potter and the deathly hallows. can't wait until july 21!!! we may need to buy 2 copies this year.

perfection...

this sandwich comes from a restaurant in fremont. a little hole in the wall that doesn't even have a sign. the sandwiches are so good that most days there is already a line outside the door when they open at 11am.
it's such a simple combination, but it truly is the most delightful sandwich i have EVER tried.
it's marinated grilled pork, spicy mayo, lettuce, caramelized onions & jalapenos on a crusty, hard baguette. so simple yet so incredibly perfect.
it's so good that we don't even like sharing the name and location because they do run out...often.

and something to enjoy along with this delightful sandwich is michael buble's new single...everything. i love it, it makes me feels happy. give it a try.

i love a good book...

ask my family, they will tell you that i tend to ignore the rest of the world and them when i find a book i really like. they can all tell you about my finishing the last harry potter book in less than 24 hours or maybe how i brought the one before that to kial's gymnastics tournament and read it whenever she was not actually doing something. and it's not just harry potter books, there are a few other authors that elicit this unmotherly behavior from me, but not too many. well, thanks to kelly, i found another one.

kelly gave me two books to read friday night and by saturday night I finished them. they are by an author named stephenie meyer. the 1st book is twighlight and the 2nd book is new moon...they were so good. i really recommend these books for anyone. they are fun, imaginative and just a little suspenseful and perfect to share with teenagers or even tweens. i loved them. now i can't wait for the next book in the series eclispe. it's coming out in august.

give these books a try and let me know what you think of them...and if you live anywhere near me just ask and i will lend them to you.

one thing i really enjoy is getting my friends addicted to whatever my current addiction is. it just makes life a little nicer.

a gina special...

that's how jas orders my ice tea from the starbucks drive through by our house. now the nighttime crew ALWAYS knows what the order is and they just tell us to drive up to the window. the morning/weekend people aren't as familiar with us and sometimes he actually has to spit out the whole order...2 venti black iced teas with 3 splendas each and extra ice and an extra cup of ice.

i can't tell you how excited i was when one day they actually wrote GINA down the side of the cup where they put the order info.

i think it's hilarious that jason orders a gina special, but since my baristas know what he means it's also a little telling that i have a problem.

the glad game

so kelly's been nagging (is that too strong), I mean encouraging me to start blogging. so here goes. the glad game...

1. jason. I am so glad for Jason he's my best friend and he totally loves me. I could never have imagined finding someone so perfect for me.

2. my girls. Cebastian & Kial have to be 2 of the coolest kids around. They are fun and goofy, serious and grumpy and completely fit with Jason & I. I get compliments all the time about how sweet and helpful they are.

3.my parents. they are a little crazy, but i couldn't ask for better parents or grandparents. a day doesn't go by that they don't do something to make my life easier in some way. and nowhere in the world are there kids as lucky and my girls & niece & nephews when it comes to quality time with their grandparents. so glad they are mine.

4. friends. old friends, new friends, work friends, scrapping friends, starbucks friends...they all make my life so much better. having people to talk with about books (harry potter & stephanie plum), movies, tv shows (lost, heroes, psych...etc), music, new scrapbook products and every other frivolous but fun thing i am interested in just makes me so HAPPY.

5. iPod. if you have one you know and if not...i am sorry.

6. starbucks BLACK iced tea. i don't care if i could easily make my own iced tea at home, it just tastes better when it comes with some friendly banter from a starbucks barista. when jason can drive up and order a gina special and get it JUST perfect, no questions asked you know it's a really great thing!

7. my camera. when i capture a perfect moment i can't help but feel glad.

8.disneyland.

thanks for the challenge kel, i actually enjoyed it. it's not often i really think about how many things i have in life to be glad about, many more than this, but i am lazy.
