we are back and slowly recovering...
disneyland was great but VERY crowded. we have never gone in the summer before and we won't be ever going back in the summer. we got up early each morning (i couldn't stay alseep...never a problem i have) and stayed up late each night and still there is so much we didn't do that we would have liked to. oh well, maybe next time.
finding nemo was cool. we were lucky and only had to wait in line for an hour and 45 minutes. many people were waiting 3 to 4 hours.
the best part of the whole trip was really just hanging out together and enjoying the company.
we flew back from disneyland on sunday afternoon, dropped our bags at home and then headed right for my aunt & uncle's house (an hour away) in duvall. my mother's brother was in town for the weekend so my aunt (my mom's sistyer) wanted to have a get together. we were pretty tired, but we still went and had a good time. it was cold and rainy but that didn't keep kial from jumping in the lake...i don't think she has any nerves or something, the cold never seems to bother her.
now we are back in the normal groove of things. jas & i at work and the girls finishing up the last week of school.
kial's pirate party is on friday and we are scrambling to get ready for that.
i am just waiting to not be tired anymore...i think i just need 12 straight hours of sleep.

i'm jealous...
jason was in sacramento for work and ended up meeting up with his aunt, donna lyyn, cousin, india lynn and indy's adorable little boy sammy. i probably shouldn't say this but these guys are my favorite of all jason's relatives. don't get me wrong, jason has an amazing family and i've really liked every single one of them, but DL & Indy are just a tiny bit higher on the totem pole for me.
anyway, i am really jealous he got to see them and have dinner with them. they very sweetly drove up from san fransico just for the pleasure of dining with him...and they even picked up the check!
i guess jas needs to have some benefits for long periods of travel, and seeing various family members around the country is a HUGE one.
still i wish i was there this time...

spoiled rotten...
ceb & i decided that we couldn't wait to give kial her birthday outfit so we didn't. i feel a little bad because it's her only gifts she'll get to open from us (she asked for money, which she will get), but she was more than happy to rush ahead and see what she got.
it's a litte sad for me to see these pictures because it's very obvious she's no longer a little girl. thank goodness she's such a sweet "tween"...most of the time.
i love this kid.

yo ho, yo ho...
a pirate party for kial!
i am pretty excited about kial's pirate party. we've already done a lot of planning (and buying) and i just finished the invites. i must say they turned out pretty cool. i used mapquest to find a map of our house and then using photoshop (love photoshop) and some cool fonts made a very piraty invitation.
i printed the invitation on off-white paper, and printed a picture of kial and a pirate ship on the back. we burned the edges to give it an aged and authentic look. then we rolled up the invites, bound them with twine and stuffed them in plastic bottles with a little bit of sand.
i had fun taking photos of kial dressed as a pirate. (much more than she had)
and if this isn't already enough fun kial's party hasn't even happened and i am already excited about planning ceb's party...vampires!!! (eclispe will be released shortly be for her birthday)

i just don't get it...
my nephews' dog died today and it appears that someone poisoned him. we think it was our neighbor, who had complained to my sister about the dog just the day before and told her he wanted her to get rid of him. not because shorty did anything, but because he might.
he was a sweet and gentle dog who my nephews loved and played with all the time. all 4 boys were rough and ruly with him and he never even nipped at them. the boys named him shorty.
he was a pitbull and he was less than a year old. he never showed any signs of being aggressive, except towards my sisters other dog, but they were both males and both not fixed. i know people have issues with even hearing the name pitbull, but i honestly don't believe this dog would have hurt a fly.
i am feeling sick even thinking about the suffering he felt while he was dying and even sicker because it was my 7, 5 & 2 year old nephews who found the poor dog already dead. my 7 year old nephew kept asking his mom to just check and make sure that shorty wasn't breathing.
i just don't get how someone could do something like this, something so cruel and inhuman.
