wishlist...

something i enjoy doing is making wishlists on amazon.com. its mostly stuff i will never own, but it's still fun.

here are a few things i have on my list right now...

this is a great backpack that combines a camera bag AND a laptop carrier. my friend ally has one so i've looked at it in person and KNOW it would work great for traveling. i have a camera remote AND it works pretty well, but i WANT this one. this one has a delay option on it...which would be nice to have.this wide angle lens is enough to make me weak in the knees. ok maybe not quite that dramatic, but i still would LOVE to have it. i can just imagine the cool photos i could get a disneyworld with this baby. any one have a spare $700? no? sadly, me either.and lastly, i would really like to upgrade to a canon rebel xsi. i like my rebel xt, but the HUGE view screen on the back of the xsi makes me DROOL. one day i WILL get this. kial and i have a deal that she gets my xt once i have the xsi...pretty good deal for both of us.anything fun on your wishlist?

one year from today...

i'm going to be at disneyworld!

a perfect snow day...

that's what tuesday was. i loved waking up and seeing the world painted white.
i also loved that it wasn't so much snow that it affected the commute in to work AND that it was pretty much gone by the end of the day.

snow can't get much better than that...in my opionion!

now i am ready for some warmer weather. i'll even take 50 degrees...

i guess i shouldn't complain since jas is headed to chicago on sunday for 3 weeks and it's supposed to be really cold there starting on sunday. and he gets to be outside a lot..lucky him.

sweet baby goodness...

is something my blog usually lacks.

i just don't get a chance to take baby photos very often so i was thrilled to take pictures of my friend claire's beautiful baby girl. she was just so sweet and her parents were so obviously in love that i just couldn't help taking over 500 pictures! i weeded those down to 77 favs and these are my favs from that batch.now i am just waiting for claire & james to pick their favs and i'll get to design a birth announcement for them!
so much fun!

so tired of the cold...

but i am happy to have fun inside!

i love GOING to the movies. popcorn, coke zero, popcorn, a fun escape from reality and did i mention the popcorn!

there are a few movies coming up that i want to see. i tend to lean towards happy, funny, action packed and STUPID movies. nothing profound, realistic, scary, SAD or emotionally draining. i want to leave the movie feeling good and maybe even chuckling a bit, not with red swollen eyes and a runny nose.
*and yeah, i really do intend to see fan boys (matinee only) because i am secretly a star wars nut! princess leah was my idol when i was a kid. and han solo was my guy. no luke skywalker for me, he was just too good!

**i also realize that sunshine cleaning will probably stray from my happy movie theme, but it's got amy adams in it and i LOVE her!

politics is NOT my thing...

not at all. jas and his mother can talk politics until they turn blue. i just tune them out when they start going because it's just not interesting to me. but i am excited about tomorrow and the inauguration of our new president.

i do feel like barack obama is the change this country needs.

i don't expect immediate change or drastic change. i don't expect i will always be happy with his choices. but for me, like many others, he gives me hope.and can't everyone use a little hope!

long day...

so tuesday morning, ceb called me AFTER i arrived at work and said she was having horrible pain on the right side of her stomach near her belly button plus she was really nauseous. i tend to think worst case scenario, something i seem to have inherited from my mom, so my first thoughts were appendicitis and surgery. then complete panic and guilt set in.

i called her doctors office and they asked me a bunch of questions which i mostly couldn't answer since i was at work (see where the guilt comes in) and ceb was at home. they made an appointment for her to be seen MUCH later than i thought they should and said she couldn't eat or drink anything. we went in did some tests and were reassured by her doctor (who i LOVE) that he didn't think she had appendicitis, but she may have a ruptured ovarian cyst. so then we went off to swedish downtown for an ultrasound. and she still couldn't eat or drink anything. we were not told that they were working us in or that we would be waiting an hour before she was seen OR that her ultrasound was scheduled for 2 hours. but we got through it with minimal grumpiness on my part and MUCH discomfort on cebs. basically when we finally finished around 5:30pm we were sent home with no diagnosis or resolution and one super hungry girl who was still in a lot of pain. her doctor called us about 7pm to reassure us that they saw NOTHING on the ultrasound. they were unable to see her appendix, which is normal when it's not inflamed. they were also not really able to see her ovary but they did see fluid around the area where it should be so they THOUGHT she probably had a ruptured ovarian cyst. so no REAL diagnosis, but a probable one. we decided to take that along with the advice from her doctor for ceb to get rest, take some tylenol and call him if it got worse...thankfully she is continuing to get better.
